Tutorials:Change internal graphics of your SE phone and Radio without hands-free.

Change internal graphics of your phone.
Use this patch:
http://www.4shared.com/file/17726529/577898ac/change_internal_v2.html
Get the graphics from:
http://www.4shared.com/file/16785542/68825a59/Sysgfx_pack_remixed_by_yogesh.html

What to do next is:
Go to phone memory/pictures.
Create a folder name gfx.
copy all the sysgfx inside this gfx folder.
Restart your phone.

Radio hands-free patch:
Use this patch:
http://www.4shared.com/file/10864384/bcd39239/w800_R1BC002_radio.html

(You must be familiar to how to use patch files.)

Obviously we need an antenna for reciever.
so we are going to use any small metal part to act as antenna like aluminium chocolate foil, bike key, jump clip, a wire bit at the second pin from left of our data interface
(The place were we connect our charger/headset, there will be totally 12 pins and the 3nd corresponds to the FM antenna)
Place it such that it is not disturbed and then your phone will play FM without headset!!

Change images and sounds at startup and shutdown of your SE phone.!

Start up/shutdown image/sound change
The images must be in 176 X220 resolution, the file name must be like this
Boot image: SPLASH
Startup Image: STARTUP_IMAGE_SEMC
Shutdown Image: SHUTDOWN_IMAGE_SEMC
Startup Sound: STARTUP_SOUND_SEMC
Shutdown Sound: SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC

And you must know to use FAR and XS to do this changes.
Startup and shutdown images and sounds are located in various locations. To change, simply delete the existing file, and copy in your file with the same name.

Here are the various names, file sizes, formats and locations:
Boot image: SPLASH in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the 176x220 pixel image displayed at boot up, called the Splash Screen.
Can be in gif, bmp or png format.
Animation not supported.

Startup Image: STARTUP_IMAGE_SEMC in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the 176x220 pixel image shown after the Splash screen.
This image can be chosen by the user in settings/display/start-up screen so you don't need internal file system access to change this image.

Shutdown Image: SHUTDOWN_IMAGE_SEMC in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the 176x220 pixel image that is shown when the phone is shutting down.
Can be in gif, bmp or png format.
Animation is supported, but total number of frames should be kept low, and gif should not be set to repeat animation, as this will slow down the shutdown.

Startup Sound: STARTUP_SOUND_SEMC.mid or STARTUP_SOUND_SEMC.mp3 in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the sound that plays when the phone starts up.

Shutdown Sound: SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC.mid or SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC.mp3 in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the sound that plays when the phone is shutting down.

Have Fun...!

3. XS++ (A tool to customize yur fone)
4. FAR Manager (Tool to crack your fone, get into the software part of ur fone)
____________________________________________________________
Procedure:
1. First check the CID version of ur fone. There are two versions, CID 36 (a bit older one) and CID 49.

2. ONLY FOR CID 49
Your version of CID may not be compatible wid the version of FAR or SEFP plugin, given in here. So, u may ve to patch ur fone, to make it compatible with the gn version of FAR and so the SEFP plugin.Remove your SIM and connect the phone to the USB cable, pressing and holding the 'C' button on ur fone, after clicking START in the XS++ window. Now, tick the Flash Main Firmware and hit the '...'[Path finder] button. Now hit "Enter the Matrix".
Now connect ur fone holding the 'C' button, and insert the data cable.

4. U re inside ur Fone:
Here, u ll find ur window divided into two halves. The left part of the window shows the files of yur fonr and the right side shows the files in ur PC.
Now double click FS (File System) and wait till it hacks ur fone.
now follow this path .. ifs -> settings -> Messaging.
Here u ll find a file "pref_store.txt"
Hit F4 to edit the file. U ll find '/smsdata' written there by default. Change it to '/tpa'
Now hit F2 to save and F10 to quit editing.

5. Finalizing
You re done with the oprn. u now need to shut down the FAR Manager. For this, keep on clicking '...', which u l find in the top of the left side of the window, untill it asks to shutdown the loader. Click Yes and quit the manager.

Sony Ericsson GPRS settings.

I have seen people around here struggling to get settings of gprs for their phone.
These mobile operators dont seem to have the correct configurations for sony ericssons.(esp. operators like Idea cellular in India).

So all you people, simply go to http://www.sonyericsson.com/ and get your gprs settings directly from there.
You will get your settings directly send to your handset almost immediately.
This is the easiest (and also the smartest :)) ) way to get your settings.

All the best.

Sony Ericsson is always there to help us.

I love sony ericsson!

Tricks for w810 and most other SE phones

Create Contact Pictures
---------------------------------
Creating contact pictures --> Zoom in on the face and save as large. Did not try saving as small or other size, so dont know how it will appear.

Block a group
-----------------------
Create a new group of contacts, from Contacts | Options | Groups (you could name the group Blacklist or something else). Assign any people / phone numbers to that group.
Set a profile which has the Accepted callers set to that new group.
Now you don't have to bother any unacceptable callers.

Tricks for w810i and most other SE.

1.Open Note when making calls
During calls, Press More--> Menu-->Organizer--> Note

3.Mute a phone call without rejecting it

Press the volume button

4.Don't Drain The Battery

With Lithium batteries there is no advantage to draining the battery. The battery will infact last longer with partial rather than full discharges. There is no battery memory effect with a lithium battery - you can charge the battery whenever you like without fear of reducing its charge capacity, and you do not need to drain a lithium battery completely before recharging it.Find out more about Lithium batteries here: http://www.batteryuniversity.com/

5.Receiving call

+ or - or # --> mute ringtone
Hold + or - ---> reject call
Hold C to mute/unmute

Delete SE web links

8. Delete SE Web links in user folders

Sony Ericsson or your operator install links at the top of every folder in your phone?s file system to websites with their content. These are pretty useless to most of us, and serve only to clutter up access to our files. The links are stored in two locations within the file system.Firstly, as xml files in folders within /tpa/preset/system/custmenu. For example the folder GAMES_HOOK_1 might contain an xml file pointing to the operator?s game download page, as well as an image used as the icon.Secondly, the links are cached in the files cust_menu_data.dat and cust_menu_done_unpacking.dat that sit in /tpa/preset/system/custmenu.
To get rid of an operator link, you need to delete the folder in custmenu for the relevant link, then delete the files cust_menu_data.dat and cust_menu_done_unpacking.dat.

Change startup n shutdown sounds n images

Change Startup and Shutdown sounds and Images

Startup and shutdown images and sounds are located in various locations. To change, simple delete the existing file, and copy in your file with the same name. Here are the various names, file sizes, formats and locations:
Boot image: SPLASH in /tpa/preset/system/settings/This is the 176x220 pixel image displayed at boot up, called the Splash Screen. Can be in gif, bmp or png format. Animation not supported.

Shutdown Image: SHUTDOWN_IMAGE_SEMC in /tpa/preset/system/settings/This is the 176x220 pixel image that is shown when the phone is shutting down. Can be in gif, bmp or png format. Animation is supported, but total number of frames should be kept low, and gif should not be set to repeat animation, as this will slow down the shutdown.

Shutdown Sound: SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC.mid or SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC.mp3 in /tpa/preset/system/settings/This is the sound that plays when the phone is shutting down.

Change system sounds

6. Change System sounds

The various system sounds are stored at /tpa/preset/system/sound. If you replace them with your own versions you can change the sound the phone makes for a given system sound. For example you can replace the noisy lowbattery.mid with something more subtle.
Replacement sounds should have the same name and audio format (mid, mp3, amr) as the original, and be about the same length.
To replace a system sound, delete the existing sound from /tpa/preset/system/sound and copy in your own version.

Deleting Pre-installed stuff

Deleting Pre-Installed Content and Games

You cannot delete the pre-installed content from the handset itself, but with access to the internal file system you can delete ANY pre-installed content you want. Simply browse to the folder where the preset content is stored and delete it.
Here are the folder locations for the various pre-installed content:
Games: /tpa/preset/system/ams.Games: /tpa/preset/default/javaSounds: /tpa/user/audioSounds: /tpa/preset/default/audioImages: /tpa/user/imageImages: /tpa/preset/default/imageThemes: /tpa/user/themeThemes: /tpa/preset/default/themeVideo: /tpa/user/videoFrames: /tpa/preset/system/multimedia/pe/framesFrames: /tpa/preset/system/multimedia/pe/funlayerClipart: /tpa/preset/system/multimedia/pe/clipart

Backup Games n Java Apps

Backup Games and Java Apps

All Java midlets can be backed up by copying the jar and jad files from the phone to your computer.
The jar and jad files at can be found here: /tpa/preset/system/ams
To backup your games, simply copy the jar and jad files in this folder to your computer. The games will need to be reinstalled if you delete them from the phone and then later want to reinstall. You can?t just copy the old files back into the ams folder. But you can use the old jar and jad files you copied from the phone to reinstall the game (the same way you would install a game normally)

Camera sound silence

3. Camera Sounds - Silence
Method 1: Disable Camera Sound completely
The camera sounds come from the files camerashutter.3gp and camerafocus.3gp. If these files don?t exist, the camera is silenced. This means the camera makes no sound even if the phone is not in Silent Mode. You could also delete only camerafocus.3gp for example, if you only want the shutter sound to be heard.
The camera sound files can be deleted from /tpa/preset/system/sound
Method 2: Enable Silent Mode for camera sounds
This method will enable you to disable the camera sounds by turning on Silent Mode. When not in silent mode, camera sounds will operate as normal.
Copy the customize.xml file in /tpa/preset/custom to the computer and make a backup. Open customize.xml in an editor and change the following setting from false to true:
true
Save the file then delete the existing customize.xml on the phone and copy in the new version.
Important: You will have to do either a settings or master reset before this trick will take effect. Once you do, you will be able to silence the camera on demand, simply by putting the phone into silent mode.

2. Camera Sounds - Change

2. Camera Sounds - Change
The camera sounds depend on the files camerashutter.3gp and camerafocus.3gp. You can change the camera sounds by replacing these files with your own versions. The new sound files must have the same names as the old ones, and be in 3gp format, preferably audio only.
Delete the existing files from /tpa/preset/system/sound and then copy in the new versions.

1. Remove SMS storage limitation

1. Remove SMS storage limitation
You can remove the storage limitation so that you can store more than 500 sms?s. This trick works by changing the sms message store to the tpa folder, where the message limitation is not in force
Copy the file /ifs/settings/messaging/pref_store.txt from the phone to the computer, make a backup, then edit it to read /tpa instead of /smsdata, then delete the file from the phone then copy in the new version.
Now you need to create the message store in the /tpa folder. Create the following folder structure in the /tpa folder:
/tpa/messaging/tpa/messaging/sms/tpa/messaging/sms/msg/tpa/messaging/sms/FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF/tpa/messaging/sms/FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF/pending/tpa/messaging/sms/FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF/sm/tpa/messaging/sms/FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF/sr/tpa/system/messaging/sms
Restart the phone. You can now stored as many messages as you like ;-)
HOWEVER, in practice you can only store about 1000 messages, beyond and the inbox access becomes painfully slow. In theory you can store 40000 or more.
